Thermoplastic materials like PVC, TPV, TPU are widely used in automotive encapsulation strip thanks to their elastic character. 

Although the encapsulation strip are mostly black, the screw & barrel need to be cleaned periodically because the carbon in the machine will lead to defective parts surface. 

In some cases, cleaning of the hot runner can be especially challenging, because there is still a small drainage opening materials between the hot runner nozzle and sealing strip. This material needs to be removed in time.

Therefore, in addition to effective cleaning, the purging compound also need to be elastic to facilitate remove of the drainage materials.
